I currently carry a G27 and love the gun. Bought a G23 for home use. Now, I'm looking for my first 9mm carry option and immediately figured the G26 was the best choice.

Been looking at the SIG 239 DAK and although I haven't fired this weapon yet, am impressed by the design and apparent quality of workmanship. Does anyone here have any first hand experience with this weapon?

Or, should I just stay with the G26 and "fogeddabowdit"? 8)

Mags are about double for the sigs, right? Is it manual safety? Two more plus rounds with the glock.

I wouldn't mind carrying either.

I carry G19, G20, and 640. Wouldn't mind adding a sig down the road though. I'd have to shoot it first though.

I have a g19 which is a bit big for me to carry but great to shoot. on the g26 i have trouble getting as secure of a hold but I would like to work with one more. the XD was about the same size as the g19 but I shot better with it.

hope that helps!

I bought a FEG PA-63 for carry. It's a clone of the Walther PPK only in 9x18 vs. .380 (9x17). Fits my hand very well, it's flat and has been 100% reliable.

They go for about $130.

The Czech model CZ-82 is similar but has a 12 vs. 8 round mag:

If you're used to shooting Glocks, you may not care for the weight and/or the trigger on the Makarov caliber pistols. I'll have mine with me Sunday at Bullseye starting at 1:00 pm if you want to try it out.

If it is a DAK Sig, then no safety at all. Just point and shoot like a Glock. Same principle as a DA revolver, long first pull ensures no go bangy as long as you keep your finger off the trigger.

Other than the SA Sig's I don't think any other Sigs have a manual safety.

Sig mags do run a little more than Glock mags. I think you can get them for around 35.00 or so off of Sig's factory websight.

However, all kidding aside in my earlier post about Glocks, the G19 will be the next 9mm that I will buy.

Kahr K9....... great carry pistol. I trust my life with it.

The Kahr MK9 would be even better for summer concealment since its smaller. I have one on the list..... 8)

you can shoot my K9 at the meeting, if I can make it. looks like I might be out of town :( :(

Damned....just when you think you're free to go do the things you enjoy, work seems to get in the way.

I'll try again tomorrow and if that doesn't work, maybe see you guys at 1:00 on Sunday.

Hahahaha!!!! Maybe in a perfect world where hot wings rain from the sky and beer flows in streams. A place where the magic gun fairy exists. A place where wives never nag you about ANYTHING and are ALWAYS frisky. A place where the lawn looks like a putting green at the Master's, that magically mows and waters itself. A place where someone else takes out the trash for you. A place where a man can leave the seat up. A place where Sportcenter is always on. A place where your farts can be appreciated in all of their splendor. A place that feels like being a kid again and going to your first baseball game with your Dad. A place where Porsche and Ferrari come standard....with no speed limit. A place where TV's start at a minimum of 50 inches. A place where you hair doesn't fall out, gut doesn't grow, cholestrol doesn't increase and there is no need for a little blue pill. A place where you feel like you did after your first kiss. A place where your favorite dog is always there, ready to play or hunt. A place where the streets and schools are safe. A place where individuals have rights and freedoms and respect one another.

So essentially after all that a MP5 would be a great option to carry in A PERFECT WORLD.

Hi-Jacking is complete. You can now go back to your regularly scheduled thread.

To me the G26 is as ugly as they get, right up there with one of the Hi-Points.

Having shot both the G26 and the Sig, I would go with the Sig any day. For one thing the Sig was so damn accurate, and the G26 was not. First 3 shots I fired were all touching each other. The G26 shots were all over the place, mostly to the left.

Oh, and the 239 is single stack, nice and slim, very nice carry piece.
