I have someone locally interested in my Mauser. I've seen such a huge price range that I have no clue what this thing is actually worth. Pictures below, any help appreciated.

Note: I'm no longer living in GA and this is not for sale on the forum (hence why it is not in the BST thread).

I've tried to get pictures of the markings on it to help identify the manufacturer but I don't know enough about the markings to really research myself. Thanks in advance.

From my research and experience with them, I'd guess this one is in the $180 range.

I concur with Mrs. E on the price, You have a Turkish Mauser.

    Edit; You may have a M1893 or M1903 conversion from 7.65 x 53 to 8MM

Go here to http://www.turkmauser.com/ verify with your serial number

    Yeah, $175-$225.

10 years ago these were $79 guns just like Mosin-Nagant Soviet rifles.
A buddy bought 3 of them ... And a case of corrosive WWII surplus ammo for 6 cents a shot.
That was in the early 2000s, though.

Now that the supply has dried up, prices rise.
But their value is still as shooters and casual collectors of C&R, not serious collectors.

    Correction:
I see yours is not the more common K98 Mauser variant, but a much older design, the Gew 88, based on the original 1888 design that the Turks may have modded in 1930s with new barrels for the newer military-spec ammo the Germans developed.

So, I don't know what these are worth.

Thanks all. The best I can find online is still around $200 based on what I learned from you all. For that price I think I'd rather keep it as part of the collection.
