5 Tricks Gun Control Advocates Play

I'm passing along a well-written article, in case this is still a gun forum.

https://mises.org/blog/5-tricks-gun-control-advocates-play
To keep pressing the issue of gun control, it is necessary for advocates to push a narrative in which crime is especially bad, and in which the United States is somehow unique in the world in terms of crime. The actual historical data often contradicts their claims, however, so in order to push their narrative with greater gusto, advocates for gun control employ several different sleight-of-hand rhetorical tricks.
Nothing especially new, but it's always nice to see a succinct summary.

Good article.
Good article.
+1 enjoyed reading it.
yeah, good article.

Although I don't agree that all those third-world poverty-stricken nations in Latin America should be included on equal terms with the modern, successful nations when one is comparing crime statistics. Even if those nations aren't currently enduring a civil war, they're still much different from the USA both culturally and economically, and, frankly, I expect less from them.
I hold modern, successful highly-developed nations to a higher standard, and if you want to examine the gun control laws of, say the G8 (G7 now, Russia's been put on suspension), the USA does stand out as very permissive on guns.

AS WE SHOULD BE. We're the MODEL for freedom and individual liberty (or we were, anyway. The Second Amendment is a relic from that ancient era.)
Although I don't agree that...
The MSM and others will use whatever available data "proves" their hypothesis regardless if it's germane to it or not. Half the population of the country is too stupid to be skeptical of their "results" and just accepts it at face value.

On the contrary, I believe model progressive nations like Venezuela are perfect examples to compare against the backwards, regressive USA. After all, isn't Venezuela the perfect example of the Socialist dream state?

"Relic" my :censored: The 2A is just as vital and socially relevant today as it was the day it was originally penned.

Framing it as a "relic", bearing and passing it around mischaracterized as a "relic"... you're doing the anti's work for them.
