This bill was heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee today and passed out of it with language on antique firearms according to a Anti-gun reporter at the capital.

Twitter thread here about what went on in the hearing -

#SB150 passes, with some add'l language re: antique firearm added to match federal language & per request of guns rights groups. #gapol

Still has "criminal trespass" as a "family violence" crime.

6 Republican votes in favor of moving it out of committee

Perhaps it was politically "better" to pass it out of committee but with a poison pill (adding the "antique firearms" provision) lurking in the text so the Dems would vote down their own bill?

Worse, nobody spoke against it, not even Patrick Parsons, who was actually in the CLOB building in another committee room making another bash and trash video on Ralston and GCO... why wasn't he in there fighting? oh and last night he claimed GCO supported the bill.

"Recently, there has been misinformation spread that gives the impression that NRA-ILA supports Georgia Senate Bill 150. The NRA OPPOSES Senate Bill 150 and due to the efforts of your NRA, SB 150 has been tabled for this session and will not progress further."

Is the part that I bolded true? If so, how so?

I don’t know if it is true or not but they seem to imply that it is.

Problem is labeling anything "domestic violence" is an automatic argument killer. Even if such "violence" is kicking over a potted plant on the porch as you leave. If you get to define the terms, you automatically win the debate.

Some woman I know said she was "assaulted" by a man for arguing with her on sone point of politics or religion or something."

I asked HOW he "assaulted" her.

Woman: "He ridiculed and demeaned me, and didn't even consider my point of view."

So there you have it, folks. Disagreeing with a woman and not being polite and pretending her arguments are logical and well-supported is an ASSAULT.
