Michael Richard Swanson of St. Louis Park, Minnesota age 17 with a criminal record since age 13, smiled and laughed as he was led to the courthouse Tuesday. The robberies and murders took place in Algona, Iowa Monday November 15th.

First, Crossroads Gas Station in Algona, Iowa was hit around 9:05 p.m. Vicky Bowman-Hall, 47, and a mother of ten children handed over cash and cigarettes upon Swanson's demands, who wore a ski mask. After complying, she was shot and killed.

Next, about an hour later at Kum & Go in Humboldt, Iowa 61-year-old cashier Sheila Myers was also robbed and killed after complying.

Important Note to Sheep: The murderer admitted that he killed the women to keep them from identifying him. I guess he felt that the ski mask didn't help hide his identity enough.

People, do NOT let the criminal have the luxury of making the decision of whether you will live or die. If you value your life, you will keep that power to yourself. Criminals cannot be trusted by defintion. Those poor women learned that lesson in a very tragic manner.

Let's help this story spread so that not only more convenience store clerks will arm themselves, but other honest citizens will also.

Sad that Iowa is so far behind the rest of the country in exercising their Second Amendment right. These victims should have had the right to be armed. Iowa citizens need to begin fighting for their Constitutional rights! Look to states that have "Constitutional Carry" (or Georgia, with GeorgiaCarry.org). Start writing your legislators! Organize! Get off of your duffs! Stop lamenting about what needs to happen to the victims, and start fighting to keep people alive!

The man should be beat to death where he stands (death by any other manner would be to kind). To murder two people in cold blood and then laugh and have no remorse what so ever. It's a sad sad world we live in.

This is horrible. It just goes to show you that there are criminals out there that do not value human life in the least bit. Furthermore, complying and cooperating is not a guarantee that you will not be murdered, especially in order to hide their identity because they think it will help law enforcement catch them.

I agree, every adult deserves the right to carry a firearm for self-defense. I hope that stories like this will make people wake up and realize that they are not safe everywhere anymore. Carry everywhere you legally can.
