My 1st GWCL license is going to expire in July and I need to renew it. I live in Houston County and when I got it 5 years ago, I got it back in a few weeks.

Here is my general question. Do I have to turn in the old one when I renew the license or is it good until it actually expires. if so, that will answer my question about getting a temporary one.

    thanks.

I did not have to turn mine in, but if you do in your county, then a temporary license is only $1.

If you renew before it expires then keep it. If you are concerned about it expiring before you get the new license then pay the $1 and get the temp. If it expires before you get the new license the temp and the expired license MUST be carried together. So it should not matter which rout you take you keep the expiring license.

I did not know this. I just carried my temp when I accidentally let my license expire.
