H&R model 939 Ultra Side Kick .22LR

Bought this from the original owner. They only made the Varient 1 without the action lock for three years. The owner said his dad bought it for him in 1958. It has been used, but is in good shape. There is some surface rust on the backstrap, but none anywhere else. It has the original target grips and the correct and original adjustable rear sight. This gun has not been tampered with in any way. The action is still short and smooth like it is suppose to be.

The cheaper Varient 2 pistols are selling in the mid-upper $200's and the only Varient 1 model sold on gunbroker (and it had the less desirable locking action) sold for $299.

I would like to get $280 obo for this one.

What's the odd thing behind the hammer on the last few pictures ?

I've got one of the not so rare ones and thought to myself that it did not have a lock either. Then I looked at the bottom of the grip. There's a key hole for an odd key there.
Mine's 46 years old.

It's the cyl release. They patended it and used it for a few years before going to the more traditional lock.
