I have a 1911 that needs a new rear sight and a grip screw/bushing. Anyone to recommend in the Cumming/Alpharetta/Dawsonville area?

Make sure you purchase a rear sight that will fit your slide cut. There are several cuts for the dovetail on 1911s. You can ask the manufacturer which cut the slide has by submitting the serial number. Some sights are a simple matter of pushing out the old sight from right to left then pushing in the new sight from left to right. Many have a set screw that also lock them into the dovetail slot. You can use a sight press or a brass drift punch and light hammer to push the sight. I suggest a small brass/nylon hammer using the nylon side to tap on the sight. the whole process should only take a few minutes. the bushing may or may not be as easy.
