As far as we can tell, no other state has a state gun, so that would make Utah the first. But that isn’t the kind of notoriety the state needs. Like all places, Utah has its peculiarities. This surely would be another.

Naming a state gun is problematic because a gun is, after all, a killing tool.

Presumably Georgia's state gun would be a Glock? :)

Hell, illinois would have the springfield xd as their state gun, Maryland would have the beretta as theirs and new hampshire has sig sauer as theirs.

No, not a Glock, they just have their US HQ here. If we're going with that criteria we should do H&K... if we're using that criteria. However, a higher standard would be to have a firearm that was designed and manufactured here in GA... and that my friends would be the very reliable, open bolt, MAC-10 of Military Armaments Corporation of Powder Springs!

One reason I would never succeed in politics is that I would refuse to participate in anything frivilous like this.
Official state firearm? Official state breakfast food? Official state mineral?
Who gives a flying penetration?
Politicians need to stick to issues that matter and pass laws (or modify laws, or repeal laws) that actually impact people's lives.

Ditto for all the resolutions honoring different individuals, groups, causes, etc. It's all a waste of valuable time and limited resources.

Yes, let's get rid of all government recognition of people who have contributed to this country. No Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Purple Heart, and for non-military, no Medal of Freedom or Congressional Gold Medal. Cause you know, recognizing exceptional service because of great deeds or great sacrifice is a waste of government resources.

Or not...

I wanted one when Savvy Jack posted (a lean mean Bald Eagle killing machine), but CoffeeMate ruined it for me (no explanation needed). :shattered:

Good. I was hoping it was another state that claimed the 1911. Hopefully we can pick something good and reliable for Georgia. :deadhorse:
