I'm looking for thoughts on a purchase that I'm making this weekend. I've sold two safe queens that were collecting dust. I'm going to walk into my favorite LGS with a grand in cash in my pocket.

My purchase will be a mainly a range toy, but may be carried from time to time, depending on what I get. I was going to get a two "normal" pistols, maybe three if one or two are used. Then I started thinking..... should I use it to get one really nice one instead? They do have Sig P320 X-5 Legions on sale, as well as Springfield Range Officer 9mm on sale.

I'm not looking for rifles right now and my current nine pistols cover normal range and carry, so nothing is really a need

New Colt King Cobra. Should have enough left for good leather and good ammo.

    Nuff Said.

    I was looking a 586 or a 610.

I can fit a Sig P320 X-Carry or P365XL along with a police trade in S&W 64 and the Taurus snubbie into my shopping spree budget.

Springfield Gear Up 2019. Includes Hard Case, range bag, 5 mags, holster and double mag carrier. Includes XD, XDM, XDS and 1911 models. Best bang for the bucks.

I recently purchased an H&K VP9SK and it has become my EDC. Very nice gun.

Get a Desert Eagle in .44 Mag.
Keep it for a few years, then sell it off. It'll give you something to talk about and trade stories with among other gun lovers for the rest of your life.

    Idea:

Spend $600-700 on a 1960's to early 1980's vintage High Standard .22 target pistol, with a 5.5" to 7.5" barrel.

The best-shooting handgun you'll ever own.

No, it won't be a gun you could carry for self-defense. That wouldn't be smart. But you said you already have nine other handguns, some of which are perfect for carrying for protection.

So get a range gun that's built for the range and is better at punching holes through bulleyes then pretty much any other pistol out there.

A P30L to keep my USP9 and VP9 company is a definite possibility.

I ended up going twice today (ones with empty pockets and once with cash), and will be going back tomorrow for another. It did't go quite as expected. None of the higher end guns really tripped my fancy today. I played with the Sig X-5 Legion and it was just too heavy for a range toy. None of the 1911's or HK's did either.

I fell in love with the feel of a used Sig P320 X-Carry they had, and it came home with me. I also picked up 500 S&B 115gr fmj to feed it. I also picked up a used S&W M&P 9mm Full Size with an Apex trigger installed from a individual seller. I have always likes the feel of the M&P series in my hand, but the triggers drove me crazy. The Apex trigger fixes that. Both pistols and the ammo came in $100.00 under budget.

I will going back tomorrow to get another. I'm selling my Gen 4 G17 tonight and will be picking a new IWI Masada, after fondling one this afternoon.

I agree with the M&P - I like the feel of them, but not the trigger. I shot one at the range with the Apex trigger and it was a lot better. I have a carry size Sig 320 and the larger M17 version - very nice pistols.

I realized how many similar striker fired polymer pistols I had, and missed having a center fire DA revolver.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing with my recent rifle purchase - I had purchased several polymers before that and it was just time for something different.

For the most part I have quit buying more guns and started "tricking them out". Nicer triggers, better optics, better ammo, more magazines etc.
