1980 for me.

Both my wife to be and I were at the Clayton County Probate Court in 1980. I had just turned 21, she was 19.

She told the clerk we wanted a marriage license, I followed up that I wanted a pistol toters permit.

What a laugh.

I was building guns in 1980 but I couldn't legally carry... of course, I also used to pour whiskey for my dad and his friends when I was still in single-digit years. That said, I may have carried to the junkyard on the other side of the woods behind my house to shoot rats, and I may have snuck a sip or two of whiskey. Country living!

The owner of the junkyard never did pay me or my friends for pest control. He used to chase us off! Never really struck me as unfair at the time. An ice cream cone would have been fine.

I wish they'd return to the "toter" language, though. Sounds more Southern.
