Thinking about taking family and friends to the Georgia Renaissance Festival in the next few weeks, and ran across this on their website. It seems to be like any other business posting I see - I'll carry until they ask me to leave, then I'll leave. Out of sight, out of mind. Any input here?

As far as I know, it's always been held on private grounds so criminal trespass laws would be in effect should you not leave if asked. Out of sight, out of mind as they say.
I have been to a fair number of those festivals over the past 20 odd years.. Until about 10 years ago many permitted swords or blades of most any type, as long as they were peace tied.
Now it is rarely permitted to get anything beyond a toy inside the gate unless it is well covered. Certainly not in MD or my last visit in GA about 10 years back.
No issues at the one in VA a couple years back. Likely get there again in the next couple weeks and will update if I can make it.

Weapons Policy
The Festival bans firearms of any type on our premises. This includes those attendees who maintain a Georgia Weapons Carry License or a similar permit from another state. No functioning projectile weapons - including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. If your costume includes a sword or dagger it must remain properly sheathed and peace-tied. Present yourself to the Security person at our Front Gate. Drawing of any type of weapon at any time is NOT allowed. Broadaxes, claymores, maces, halberds, tipped arrows, or pole weapons are NOT allowed.
I can confirm that outside of the website FAQ messaging - there’s no signage or screening related to weapons whatsoever.
