Coral Springs Officer Richard Best testified that when he arrived, Peterson told him there was shooting inside the 1200 building on the second or third floors. But when Best went inside, he said, Peterson held his position.
“It’s not that I, as one police officer, want to ever go into that situation by myself,” he said. “But that’s the understanding. You sign up to do this job, and that’s it.”
Attorneys say the acquittal of a Florida deputy for failing to act during a school shooting shows there are holes in the law. Former Broward County Deputy Scot Peterson was accused of failing to ac…
People that are willing to put the entire burden on police to save them should not express too much surprise when police sometimes exhibit human failures.
The people most motivated to face an armed threat and shoot back are ones confined in a building that are being targeted. Those are the ones the government should allow to be armed: teachers, staff, and any other adult willing to defend innocent children in schools.
Parkland Officer Who Failed To Engage Mass Shooter Found Not Guilty A jury has reached a verdict in the case against Parkland school resource officer...
I wonder if this verdict finally brings home to people the folly of complete reliance on the police. Even if they charge in bravely, it still takes time to get there. And time always costs lives.

◀Previous Post Next Post▶ Remember even when there ARE cops on campus doesn’t mean they will do a damn thing and when they don’t the system does NOTHING. The cop in Parkland like those in Uvalde wasn’t a good guy with a gun he was a coward with a gun. Fuck Scott...
Its foreign to me how anyone can be ok with giving up the ability to protect themselves. I dont trust other people to change the oil in my car let alone to protect my loved ones.
For more than five years, the bloodstained halls and classrooms where 17 people died in the Parkland school shooting has remained locked away and mostly untouched — not even the victims’ families were allowed inside.
That changed Wednesday, as heart-wrenching private tours began for relatives of the 14 students and three staff members who died. The 17 wounded and their loved ones will also be able to visit the 1200 building at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, now that it is no longer needed as evidence . . .
An entire public building held as evidence for 5 years? For a trial where there are mountains of evidence against one perpretator Asinine.
Gather the evidence, wash the floor, replace the carpet, and get it back in service.
No, its got ghosts. They have to spend about a couple dozen million dollars to tear it down and replace it.
