Process: | I arrived at the probate court at 4:10 p.m. on a Wednesday. I was greeted and helped immediately by a courteous and professional clerk. I completed a half page form and presented my Georgia drivers license, and then I was given a longer multipage questionnaire to complete, which took about five minutes (if that). I then paid the $55 fee in cash, and was directed to the FCSD to be fingerprinted. They even supplied me with a map, even though it was only a block away (the FCSD then asked for the map back so they could reuse/recycle it).
When I arrived at the FCSD, I was again greeted promptly and courteously. I was asked to sign in and then given a few more forms to complete. The deputy (friendly and professional) fingerprinted me as soon as I had completed the forms. I was done by 4:50 p.m., and I received my license in the mail one week later.

Process: | Went to Probate Office and filled out fairly simple form, paid my $55. They sent me about a block and a half away to get finger printed, along with a copy of my drivers license. Total process took less than 30 minutes. |
