New ApplicationSubmitted: May. 7, 2013
Total Time Taken: just applied todayTotal Payment: Staff very Friendly, Knowledgeable

Process:

Paid $79.25 They accept Cash or Check (no credit cards) description of this fee is: Fire Arms License $74.25 and Finger Printing $5.00. Time spent at the Probate Court was approximately 30 minutes, fill out application, swear an oath, have your picture taken, Finger Printing 10 minutes ( the wait depends upon where you were in line, I was 2nd in line and the place was filling up fast).

Comments:

You fill out the application at the Probate Court, you take your application and your receipt to the Spalding County Jail on Justice Blvd. and they do the finger printing. You show them your receipt (but get it back), they keep the application. Probate Court had a place for your SS# but it wasn't mandatory. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

Then she gives you the paperwork and payment receipt to take to the spalding county jail. The Jail is just off Williamson rd out by 19/41 and at the end of Justice Blvd on the left. They are open for finger printing Tuesday and Thursday, 12-4pm. They take your prints electronically and then they submit everything.

Comments:

The courthouse staff was very friendly and prompt. At the Jail they did ask me for my SSN (which I gave).
