Process:

Cash payment made and did it before March 1st increase. Applied for new license on 2/26/13. Total payment came to $72.25 in one cash payment. Increase has brought it to $79.50 I think. Took roughly 30 minutes from application to fingerprints and photo.

Comments:

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Were at least 10 other people there for the same thing and never once did I hear any negative conversation.

Process:

I paid $72.25 cash. The fee is going up to $79.25 on March first.

Comments:

Great service at the counter. 1 person in front of me. I whole process took less than minutes. I was surprised to receive my license in 7 days. Employee said to expect it in 2 to 3 weeks.

Total Time Taken: Two weeks.Total Payment: Fulton County Police Department did ask for my SSN

Process:

They accept cash or money order. I believe it was broken into two payments but they didn't ask for it as such. It was easy.

Comments:

It was really easy. I can't say that the folks at the front desk were all too friendly but once I was called back for fingerprinting and photo, the ladies there were nice. I think I spent no more than 30 minutes in the office.

Total Time Taken: 30minsTotal Payment: Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Process:

Went in wrong building first, after minor directions from the tag office I made it to the correct location at 4:29p.. unfortunately they stop taking applications at 4:30p.. not to worry the nice ladies behind the counter let me in. There were 2 other guys in front of me for the same thing, 2 more came in after the fact which they were turned away. Someone had told them that they could pick up paperwork for later..wrong..everything is done on their computer.. bring $72.50 in cash and thats all you need..picture, prints and application.. 30 mins but I had other business as well and the 2 guys in front of me. I expect my license in a few weeks. Small talk with the clerks revealed that they have been slammed since last Friday (Newtown incident) with GWL requests..

Comments:

Everything was smoooooth.

Total Time Taken: 2 WeeksTotal Payment: Info not submitted

Process:

Cash Only - Easy as pie. It was a renewal but they treat those as new now (maybe becuase the entire thing is electronic). Less than $80 cash, paid the clerk, filled out the paperwork and then got fingerprinted, photographed, and signed... all electronically. Took 30 minutes from the time I walked in the building until I left. Took less than 2 weeks to get the nice license in the mail.

Comments:

Very friendly as always.

Process:

Cash or money order. They have an ATM in the lobby. Took maybe 15 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. I applied on May 17, 2012 and my license was in my mailbox on May 23, 2012.

Comments:

Super easy folks to deal with and very helpful. As a side note: If you had a TPO (Temporary protective order) issued against you during the course of a divorce go ahead and take the paperwork with you that shows it has either expired or was set aside in the final divorce decree. Apparently issuing a TPO upon filing for divorce was a common practice in Georgia for many years and while not so common anymore some lawyers still advise it be done. Also, the look of the license has changed from what is pictured on this site. Admin if you email me I can send you a copy.

Process:

Walked in and there was no wait. The lady took my info, asked me a few standard questions, then took me back to get fingerprinted and my picture taken. She said I would be happy with the new CCW as it is more like a drivers license now. She also said it would be up to 5 weeks before I received it in the mail. I just got mine today: total time from applying to receiving was 14 days.

Comments:

Very friendly staff. The lady who did mine had a strong accent so I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. I felt bad and told her I was hard of hearing. :)

Process:

August 1, 2011. Walked in before lunch on a Monday and waited my turn to be seen at the counter. Filled out the paperwork and was taken behind the counter to be fingerprinted. Total time there was probably about 30 minutes, but the actual process was only about 10 minutes. My permit arrived in the mail in two days (on Wednesday.)

New ApplicationSubmitted: Jun. 17, 2011
Total Time Taken: 3 DaysTotal Payment: 76.00

Process:

Paid $76.00 (cash only) -- All in all, I wasn't in there maybe 20 minutes. She went through a quick form with me and I sat down and waited to be finger printed. The printing process was pretty quick, although she had to re-do several prints. She told me up to 10 business days, came in 2.

Comments:

Staff was friendly; although I could barely understand the lady. She told me it'd take up to 10 business days, but it came in only 2. I had recently been discharged from the USMC and had to go up to the court house anyways, so I figured to kill two birds with one stone. Process was quick and would've been painless if it hadn't cost $76.00. From what I gather, it is cash only.

Total Time Taken: 4 daysTotal Payment: $76.00

Process:

I filled out the application in person, paid $76 total fee (Cash or money order only), experienced the finger-printing process (fingers were scanned individually and together), and given a wet wipe to clean fingers after the process.

Comments:

The staff was very kind and professional; and they didn't ask questions that were unexpected or unwarranted. I applied for the license on Friday, February 4, and received the license in the mail on Tuesday, February 8. This was a painless and very smooth process. I am very pleased with this process. MVH
