Default Ruger LC9 / Galloway Precision trigger modification?

Anyone have any experience with this?

LC9 and LC380 Trigger System Upgrade to customer supplied hammer and bar

The LC9 comes with a very long, heavy trigger pull and after some Googling I found this to be a good fix for the problem. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience doing this?

I have no experience with them. However, they seem to be one of the only players for mods like that unless you have a local gun smith you trust. I have read good reviews on a Ruger specific forum I used to be on.

I have no experience with Galloway's parts in an LC9 but I do have experience with their trigger kits and an SR9c that I modified. I ended up using a combination of the carry setup as well as a Ghost 3.5 trigger connecter with overtravel stop. Made for a much improved trigger pull, but still not as clean as a Glock or M&P, IMO. As for customer service and that side of things, I found Galloway to be great to deal with.

That is a very popular mod for the KelTec PF9. Lots of threads about it here:

Thanks guys -- one thing I'm seeing is that modifying a trigger on a CC firearm could lead to problems if a situation ever occurred that required someone to use that firearm. Is this FUD or is there some truth to this?

Do you mean legal problems, reliability problems, social acceptability problems, mental problems? And why only on CC and not OC guns?

If you have a double action self-defense or EDC with no safety then you may not want to make the trigger too easy to pull. The LC9/380 have manual safeties. The opinion on safeties for EDC guns varies greatly on this board but if my first statement is your concern, I would simply use (and train with) the manual safety.

Sorry I meant carry firearms, not simply CC or OC (still getting used to the terminology)

Right -- some stuff I was reading was that (and I guess it was all speculation?) when, in the course of an incident, your firearm is inspected and they discover that the trigger was modified to be easier to use over a normal trigger, you would have some explaining to do.

I wouldn't fret it to much. As we have seen they will use a full mag, one in the chamber, or the lack of an external safety as evidence of malice.

I agree with AtlPhilip. Do modifications to your gun that make it more fun to shoot. If you don't, then the anti's have succeeded in taking away some of the enjoyment of firearms from you.
