Last year, we did not have the NRA riding shotgun like they are on HB875, nor did we have the endorsement of the 1.3 million member Georgia Baptist Convention. Those two groups are a VERY large chunk of the voting population of Georgia. The Executive branch might get away with dissing a 8k member group like GCO once, but they won't be able to stave off numbers of the magnitude above. I like this alliance and I like our chances. With that said, that does not mean I am watching the paint dry. I am working harder for this bill than I have ever worked for any bill before. I was at the capitol on Sine Die last year and I've had to chew on that defeat for an entire year. Has EVERYONE done all they can possibly do to promote this bill and help to get it passed? Have you?

alright, fresh meat. Who wants some? http://www.abpnews.com/culture/socia...d#.Uw6MFPldWHj

"
Chooch0253 Ted Moorein 3 days "I am a member of the Georgia Gun Sense
Coalition. Not a single person is paid by any person or any group, Bloomberg's
or otherwise to oppose this fools folly. We spend our own money trying to
educate the populace about gun violence and oppose this "proposed
law" that panders to a small segment of society that feel it is necessary
to carry a gun everywhere they go. I have spent a lot of my own money traveling
around this state to reach people and show how this bill has the potential to
cause even more carnage from gun violence than already exists in Georgia.
The members of Faith Voices Against Gun Violence paid for this advertisement
themselves, not Bloomberg. This law is not needed and is not wanted by a
majority of citizens as was shown through a number of verifiable polls.
If you want to know who is "getting paid" by a group, look no
further than GeorgiaCarry. The same group the legislative sponsors, (Rep. Rick
Jasperse, among others) of this law are members of. How much does the Director
of GeorgiaCarry get paid? Does he have a
vested interest in this? Do you believe somebody who is being paid to further
their own agenda or a group of people who are spending their own money
to oppose
a law that removes any legal repercussions for violating laws pertaining to guns
and does nothing to address the real problem with gun violence? What do
we have to gain? The real problem is a lack of an effective system to keep guns
out of the hands of people that should not have them. The problem is 40% of gun
sales take place with no background check conducted. The problem this law will
create: Everywhere that gun restrictions have been lessened and the laws
weakened, gun violence has increased. This "law" does nothing to address the real issues with gun violence. We are opposed to any law that puts our citizens at greater risk of gun violence but does not address the real
problems".

EDIT: Removed by the Non-Dairy Creamer because stooping to the same level as our opposition only diminishes us.

I call it fair-play. The opposition has, is and will produce worse, much worse as this battle winds to a climax. We will see, read, and hear lies spread about us that we cannot even begin to fathom. I call 'Fair' on this one.

Melinda’s leadership skills were honed in her prior career as a chief marketing officer and senior vice president of marketing for Atlanta-based corporations and ad agencies.

She has also been involved in significant political policy work as Co-Director of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Georgia Chapter, which helped block SB 101 in the Georgia Senate. Since the session, the organization has continued to lobby on national and state gun legislation. Melinda is also a founder and steering committee leader for the Georgia Gun Sense Coalition.
Bold added by me. Moms Demand is a paid for Bloomberg group. I don't have any IRS paperwork but Ennis is probably paid something.

Yes! And email every member of the committee.

Then, call them all tomorrow and let them know you support hb875, and ask for their full support as well. It needs to be voted forward to the senate floor for a vote.
